Self Evaluation
I have learnt allot through this Project, and I’m going to spend this blog going over those outcomes
Strengths
I personally feel that I’ve proven to myself what strengths I have form this project.
- Initial time management
- Idea generation
- Working on paper
- Attitude towards workload
Weaknesses
Like every good project, there are always weakness
- Not enough technical skills
- Time management at the end – terrible
Learning Outcomes
Although I feel like I have lacked quite allot during this project, I do feel I have learn quite allot from it.
- I’ve got a deeper insight into wordpress
- The Pen tool! It’s the first time I’ve used it for illustration and it certainly won’t be the last
- Working for a client
- Professionalism
- Working better under pressure
What I’d do differently
There are allot of things I would do differently. If I’m honest, I am not happy at all with how my Grow website has turned out. It lacks so much that I wanted it to have from my original sketches, but due to lack of time and lack of skill, I was unable to add them. Below is a list of things I wanted for my Grow site but never managed to implement:
- jQuery header
- Custom markers on google maps
- A database for people to sign up to
- More time to work on design
Part of the reason these elements aren’t here is because of how I arranged my time, but others were just outside my current skill set.
The future
I have a set of goals I have for the near future
- Become more proficient in codes to be able to create the designs I imagine
- Look more closely at time management
- Look closer at PHP databases
I am glad of this project because it has helped me see my flaws, and with the new goals I have set myself, I am hoping not to repeat the same mistakes in semester 2 and on my major Project. And with this blog, I say good night to you semester 1, hello major project.
