Before I moved on with building grow, I decided to have a look at the colour scheme I wanted on the site. I decided that I wanted to use Adobes ‘Kuler’ to help me with a colour scheme. I decided I wanted to go for a monochromatic colour scheme, keeping the colours quite similar together. After playing around for some time, I came up with the following colour scheme:

I think this colour scheme will work because it’s light while still being diverse. I tried the colour scheme on the illustration to see how the image would look

I decided to keep the image quite simple. I am infamous for my love of drop shadows, so I wanted to avoid using them ‘just cause’, and seeing as I’m going for a more simple design, I left them out. I believe the gradient makes the image stand out while still keeping it clean.

Typography

Another part of Grow that I have yet to look at is the typography. I had run through a few different font types when I was making a logo, but I don’t think that ‘Champagne and limousines’ was quite a right font for The Grow main site. I looked back at my previous blog, and decided that I would use good old Helvetica for the main site typography, with a slight green colour.

Rather than colour my Wireframe, I decided to go to wordpress and take it straight to coda. This is something I’ll blog about next time, as it was a long and lengthy process with lots of trials and tribulations!
