Since graduating in 2000, I have worked in a supplier environment, designing fashion for many leading high street retailers & supermarkets across ladieswear, menswear and childrenswear. 

 

The role of designer involves so much more than the design, with trend forecasting and market research at the forefront. Presenting these initial ideas in a professional way to your clients, and working with them to design ranges that fit their brand ethos, and price point is key. Trips to China to source the fabrics and trims, long days in factories with some very interesting cuisines, all to ensure those samples look perfect. Throw in a few crazy deadlines, a lot of early morning calls with suppliers and a lot of time checking courier delivery services!  The final process of submitting the samples and everybody’s favourite part of price negotiation! Yep, I’ve done it all!

 

But, there is nothing better as a designer than seeing your vision come to life and being involved in so many different aspects of that, is something I truly love. 

 

So, since 2019 I have been using all of this wealth of industry experience working as a freelancer and fashion consultant, using my skills in many different ways to help many different people.
